Sylvester Stallone rejected the offer of the new US President Donald Trump to head the National Endowment for the Arts. The popular Hollywood actor, director and producer himself spoke about this in an interview with People.

"I am incredibly flattered to be involved with the National Endowment for the Arts. But I believe I will be of much greater benefit by raising public awareness of returning servicemen from war zones in an effort to get them the good jobs and pay that our veterans undoubtedly deserve, "Stallone said in a statement.

Note that he has been collaborating with various veteran organizations for many years. So, in 2015, he sold about one and a half thousand artifacts related to cinematography to raise three million dollars, which were then used to treat the American military personnel who had been in the battles.

Recall also that earlier in an interview, Stallone claimed that he respects Donald Trump, since "such people are the real pillars of society," but he is not sure that "they can be entrusted with ruling the world."

The US National Endowment for the Arts is the federal agency responsible for supporting cultural programs, both private and public.
