Michael Madsen cast as a superhero
The second season of the "Superpowers" series of the PlayStation service, which is a free adaptation of the comic book series of the same name by Brian Bendis and Michael Avon Oming, will feature the cult hero Super Shock. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, citing Sony, Michael Madsen has been cast for his role. Described as "the ultimate physical specimen, unparalleled, and thus world-renowned," Supershock, a hero like on Superman, retired for forty years. Now, after Retro Girl's death, he returns to conduct his own investigation into her death. In the print comic, SuperShock served as inspiration for other heroes as the leader of the superteam Unity, before he went mad and committed a gruesome murder which led to his own death. Fortunately for Madsen, this storyline will be omitted from the Sony series. The production of the second season of the series at the time of this writing is in Atlanta. Remy Aubouchon will take over the showrunner role of the show, which he shared with writer Charlie Houston in the first season. Madsen will soon be seen in Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight.
