The winners of the UK's most prestigious television award, BAFTA, have been announced. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

"Wolf Hall" was named "Best Drama Series" and its star, starring Mark Rylance, was named Best Actor in a Drama Series. It is noteworthy that in the award season 2015-2016, the actor's rival in the BAFTA and Oscar awards was his fellow countryman Idris Elba. As a result, Rylance beat Elba in both awards.

Suranna Jones was named Best Actress in a Drama Series for the lead role in the TV series Dr. Foster. Best Supporting Actor named Tom Courtney ("Unforgotten"). In a similar female nomination, the trophy went to Chanel Cresswell ("This is England. Year 1990").

In the category "Best Miniseries" the project "This is England. Year 1990" won. In the international category, Aamazon's comedy "Obvious" has surpassed Narco (Netflix), The Right Wife (CBS) and Spiral.

Special prize went to comedian and screenwriter Lenny Henry for his contributions to development of television.

The award ceremony took place in London on Sunday 8 May 2106.
