Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens will not have an expanded or directorial cut. The director of the movie JJ Abrams told about this in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. At the same time, he promised episodes not included in the rental version, some of which were announced in trailers.

According to Abrams, the timing of the first version of the movie, formed in the editing room, was one hour and fifty minutes, but then, in the process of further work on the picture, it was reduced to two hours and sixteen minutes, and it is in this form that it is presented to the audience.

Recall that at the time of this writing, the seventh episode of "Star Wars", in which the key roles were played by Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Harrison Ford, Domhnall Gleason, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Mayhew, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega and other actors, launched on all major movie markets, including Chinese.

Worldwide receipts of the project exceeded 1.7 billion dollars, which allowed it to take the third place in the ranking of the highest grossing movies in the history of cinema. In North America, Star Wars 7 became the absolute leader. The eighth episode of the saga will be released in May 2017. Its full name has not yet been specified.
