Daniel Radcliffe will star in a British television movie featuring Sam Hauser, founder and president of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Rockstar Games. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
It is alleged that the plot will focus on the confrontation between Hauser and lawyer Jack Thompson, who accused the creators of the game of popularizing and praising violence. The long-lasting scramble ended in 2008 after Thompson was stripped of his license for inappropriate behavior as a lawyer.
Recall that Sam Hauser created the game "Grand Theft Auto" with his brother Dan. The first part of the series was presented to users in 1997. The game quickly gained cult status and received numerous awards. The hallmark of "Grand Theft Auto" has become a greater degree of freedom of the player, who is given the opportunity to independently choose the way to complete the tasks of each level.
At the time of this writing, a total of 12 games in the series have been released, which have sold over one hundred million copies worldwide. Released on consoles in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V was also introduced in April 2015 in a version for personal computers.
