Lucasmovie Film Studio has decided not to hold the presentation of the movie "Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi" at Comic-Con 2017. Slash Film reports citing its sources. The reason was not specified. It is noted that the lack of special events dedicated to this project does not mean that the studio refuses to participate in the festival altogether.

Most likely, some promotional materials will be presented to fans of the saga at Walt's own festival Disney called D23. It will take place from 14 to 16 July 2017. Note that the previous numbered episode of "Star Wars" was presented at Comic-Con 2015. The presentation, which was attended by many participants in the first two trilogies, made a splash.

Recall, that in the eighth episode, the key roles were played by Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, Laura Dern, Oscar Isaac, Carrie Fisher, Billy Lourdes, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson and other actors. This will be the last episode of the saga, in which Carrie Fisher, the performer of the role of Princess Leia, managed to play. The actress died at the end of 2016 of a heart attack.

Lucasmovie officials said they did not intend to recreate her image in the ninth movie.
