Popular Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey turned down an offer from Marvel Studios to play the villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. This is reported by Comingsoon with reference to its sources.

What kind of character in question is not specified, but it is assumed that, most likely, McConaughey was asked to reincarnate as the mysterious father of Peter Quill. The reason why the actor refused to participate in the project is also not named.
