The movie "Avatar" will have not three sequels, as previously thought, but four, and the first of them will be seen in December 2018. According to Comingsoon, James Cameron spoke about this at the presentation of the project at the CinemaCon exhibition in Las Vegas.

According to the director, each of the movies will be a separate story, but all together they will be combined into one saga. Viewers will see the second sequel in 2020, the third in 2022, and the final part in 2023. Filming for Avatar 2 will begin in May 2016 in New Zealand.

Sam Worthington, Zoe Soldana, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang will continue to play the key roles in the second episode. The plot of the picture at the time of this writing was not specified. The project will be produced by James Cameron and John Landau.

Earlier it was reported that Cameron and his partners have created unparalleled shooting complexes to work on the movie, significantly superior in their technical characteristics to those used to create the original movie. It has also been argued that Cameron can shoot his movies at an increased frame rate. This information has not yet been officially confirmed.

Recall that the movie "Avatar" earned more than $ 2.7 billion worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing movie project in the history of cinema.
