Los Angeles won a dispute with San Francisco over the right to host the George Lucas Museum, the cost of which is estimated at one billion dollars. This is reported by The Wrap. Mayor Eric Garzetti confirmed this information and clarified that the construction of a large-scale complex will begin in the Exposition Park area, within walking distance of the Los Angeles Coliseum.

The museum, in particular, will exhibit a collection of works of art belonging to Lucas himself and his wife Mellody Hobson, the cost of which is estimated by experts at $ 400 million. Visitors will also be able to see the unique props used in the movieing of famous movies, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones and others.

Note that George Lucas spent 10 years trying to find a place to create a permanent exhibition of his values. His hometown of San Francisco rejected his proposed plan. Due to public outcry, the authorities in Chicago, where Lucas's wife was born, also refused to build the museum.
