Kodak has once again extended the life of movie cinematography by entering into a 35mm movie supply agreement with major Hollywood movie studios Walt Disney, Fox, Paramount, Sony, NBC Universal and Warner Bros. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The amount of the transaction, as well as the duration, are not specified. The only claim is that the contract is for "several years." Kodak expects to enter into similar agreements with independent studios.

Note that the demand for movie, which was used not only for movieing, but also for archiving, is steadily decreasing. Almost 80 percent of cinemas in the world are already equipped with digital projectors, in the US this figure is even more impressive - 90 percent.

Kodak's main competitor, Fujimovie, completely curtailed movie production at the beginning of 2013.

Recall that in 2012 Kodak filed for bankruptcy and used government assistance to restructure its debts.

In 2013, the company announced that it had managed to solve its problems, and its movie division was once again profitable. Kodak executives also promised that the company will continue research to make processing and editing of 35mm movie cheaper.
