Jennifer Lawrence to star in freediving drama
Jennifer Lawrence will continue her collaboration with director Francis Lawrence. According to The Wrap, the actress will play in the drama Dive, dedicated to the famous freedivers (divers who do not use any breathing equipment) Francisco Ferreras and his wife Audrey Mestre. Brazilian Ferreras was the author of many freediving records and the organizer of the last dive of Mestre, during which she was going to dive to a depth of 171 meters, thus setting an absolute record for both men and women. Unfortunately, this attempt ended tragically: the air balloon, which was supposed to raise the diver to the surface, did not work and she died. James Cameron, who has extensive experience in underwater movieing, intends to become the producer of the movie. Initially, he planned to shoot the movie on his own, but then was forced to abandon this idea due to employment in other projects. The project will be supervised by 20th Century Fox. The shooting and possible rental schedules of the movie have not yet been specified. Note that at the time of this writing, the world record in diving in the discipline "without limits" belonged to freediver Herbert Nietzsch, who in June 2007 dived to a depth of 214 meters.
