Universal to Punch Peter Jackson's Production Project vs. Avatar 2
Universal Pictures has announced the premiere of Peter Jackson's new production project, Mortal Engines. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the picture will be presented to viewers on December 14, 2018. At the time of this writing, the movie had no direct competitors on this day, however, as of December 21, 2018, the as-yet-unnamed James Cameron movie was announced. It is supposed to be Avatar 2, which means that Mortal Engines will have only one week of undivided domination at the box office. Let us remind you that the project will be based on a series of works by the writer Philip Reeve. Their action takes place in the post-apocalyptic future. After a devastating Sixty Minute War that led to geological instability, an era of moving cities began, moving around the world, seeking to take over the remaining resources and technology. The main character of the work, fifteen-year-old Tom Natsworthy, meets the disfigured girl Esther Shaw, and this acquaintance threatens to change the world they are used to forever. Universal plans to build a movie franchise on this basis. The first movie is directed by Christian Rivers, who previously worked with Peter Jackson as production designer and special effects creator.
