Universal Pictures has not abandoned its intention to movie a new version of its now classic 1935 horror movie, Bride of Frankenstein. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Angelina Jolie received an offer to play the lead role.

For the first time, the studio's plans to present a remake of the movie were announced back in 2009. The director for some time was Neil Berger, who directed such movies as "Areas of Darkness" and "The Illusionist". In 2015, his participation is out of the question, it is only stated that the producer is still Brian Grazer. The timing of work on the new version and its possible rental schedule are not specified. It is also unknown what Angelina Jolie thinks about her participation in the movie.

Recall that the original movie, directed by James Weill, became a kind of sequel to another classic movie - "Frankenstein", released in 1931. The main roles were played by Boris Karloff and Elsa Lanchester. Stylistically, the continuation was different from the original, it was not so dark and full of black humor. The movie was even nominated for the 1936 Academy Award for Best Sound.
