The successful distribution of movie projects produced by all divisions of the Walt Disney company allowed the latter to occupy a large part of the American movie market. According to The Wrap, by August 21, 2016, Walt Disney's share reached a record 26.9 percent.

The company is doing even better outside of North America. Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens earned over a billion dollars internationally, and the animated movie Zootopia earned about $ 700 million. The latter became the most successful cartoon in Chinese history, grossing $ 235 million in the country.

In general, in 2016, four projects were released under the Walt Disney brand, which earned more than $ 340 million at home. The most successful of these was Finding Dory, which grossed nearly $ 500 million in North America.

Walt Disney managed to achieve such an impressive result, despite several failures. Thus, the movie "Alice Through the Looking Glass", the production of which was estimated at 170 million dollars, earned only 77 million at home and about 300 in the world.

The same fate befell the fairy tale "The Big and Kind Giant", which raised only 140 million dollars with a comparable budget.
