Director of the Witch will shoot a TV series about Rasputin
The team behind the sensational movie The Witch 2015 is set to tell the story of the USA "Mad Monk" Grigory Rasputin. Media Rights Capital (Third Man, The Dark Tower) hired the creator of The Witch, Robert Eggers, to script and direct a series that will follow Rasputin's journey from Siberia to his rise to power and bloody death in St. Petersburg. Production will be handled by Jay Van Hoy and Lars Knudsen's Parts and Labor studio. This is reported by the publication Deadline. Rasputin, known as the "seer", won the trust of the family of Emperor Nicholas II by treating the heir to the throne, Alexei, who suffered from hemophilia.
