Ellen Barkin ("Ocean's Thirteen") and Scott Speedman ("Felicity") have been cast in TNT's "Animal Kingdom" pilot. This is reported by the publication Deadline.

The plot of the drama, which is based on the 2010 Australian movie of the same name, "According to the Wolf's Laws", is Joshua "Jay" relatives – grandmother (Barkin) and uncles in a coastal town in southern California. Very soon he realizes that the family's fortune is acquired in a criminal way and suddenly realizes that being in the clan can become incredibly dangerous for him.

Barkin will play the mother of the family, Janine "Smurf" Cody. She is the head of the clan and the main organizer of criminal activities.
