The TV content producer IM Global Television has received the rights to adapt the cult movie "The Boondock Saints" in the format of a television series. Troy Duffy, writer and director of the original 1999 movie and its 2009 sequel, The Boondock Saints: All Saints Day, will write the script for a potential series, positioned as a prequel to feature movies, and direct the pilot. Duffy will share executive producer functions with original producers Don Carmody, Lloyd Segan and D. Matt Geller. According to the publication Deadline, the main actors – Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery – are negotiating to participate as producers.

Duffy wrote the script for the first episode and prepared the project manual, which describes the origin of the vigilante brothers – Connor (Flanery) and Murphy (Reedus) McManus, Irish immigrants from Boston. At the time of this writing, the search for a showrunner for the project is underway, which will most likely be ordered in full, bypassing the pilot stage.

"For many years I have been obsessed with the idea of telling the Boondock story, and IM Global TV lent a helping hand "Duffy commented on the news." Television is the perfect way to explore these controversial characters on a deeper level and introduce the Boondock saints to a new audience. "

" Since its first release over fifteen years ago , "The Boondock Saints" have become a real cultural phenomenon, - said in turn the president of IM Global TV. – Troy is the consummate storyteller with his own vision of the show. It took him a minute to get hooked on ”.
