Paramount Pictures has removed the Terminator 5 Genisys sequel from its distribution schedules. This is reported by the ComicBook edition. Thus, the project is finally closed.

Recall that initially the studio planned to shoot a trilogy, releasing the second movie in May 2017, then its premiere was postponed to June 2018. The timing of work on the third part was not specified. The further fate of the popular franchise at the time of this writing was not known.

The movie "Terminator 5: Genisys" was presented to viewers in 2015. Key roles in the movie were played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jay Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dio Okenai, Matt Smith and other actors. The project was relatively successful at the box office, grossing $ 440 million on a production budget of $ 150 million, but was criticized by fans for the miscasting and storyline.

Recall that in 2019, the rights to the "Terminator" will return to its creator, James Cameron. He himself has no plans to return to the director's chair, but is ready to provide production support if the new movie is directed by the creator of "Deadpool" Tim Miller. None of the major Hollywood studios have shown any interest in the project yet.
