20th Century Fox has made an official apology for the creation of a series of fake news as part of the advertising campaign for the movie "Cure for Health", including USA President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump. A statement on this matter is quoted by The Wrap.

"In an effort to raise viewers 'awareness of our movies, we are doing everything we can to push the boundaries of marketing and to be creative in consumer information. We made a mistake in this case. Our Network campaign was inappropriate at all levels, given the level of our consumers' trust which we try to maintain every day. We have revised the approval process for such decisions and made appropriate changes to ensure that every part of the campaign is properly reviewed to avoid similar mistakes in the future. We sincerely apologize, "the statement said.

Note that as part of the advertising campaign, several fictitious information sites in different languages were created. The information posted on them, often of a sensational nature, was reprinted by quite real media. In particular, one of these notes reported that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump met at a Swiss resort a few months before the US presidential election.

Note that the movie also takes place in a medical center located in the Swiss Alps.
