The Lovers star left the project due to the abundance of love scenes

The reason for the sudden departure from Showtime's "Lovers" by co-star Ruth Wilson has become known. Correspondents of The Hollywood Reporter conducted their own investigation and found out that the actress left the project because of a "hostile work environment" and the need to often and, in her opinion, unreasonably undress in front of the cameras.

Sources in the movie crew who wished remain anonymous, claiming, in part, that Wilson did not have a relationship with the show's producer Sarah Trim. The actress did not agree with her vision of the development of the heroine. Wilson also felt pressure from Trim to persuade her to participate in scenes of erotic content.

According to one of the informants, the pressure was applied verbally using such phrases, like "everyone is waiting for you" or "you look great". "This would be expected to be heard on set from men's lips sometime in the 50s. The work environment was very toxic," the source noted.

In another case, in the second season, Wilson refused to appear in an aggressive sex scene in which she was pinned to a tree.

Sarah Trim, however, denies that she ever pressured actors. "I would never say such things. I am not like that. I am not a manipulative person, and I have always been a feminist," she says.
