American Film Academy renamed Foreign Films nomination (Topic)

The Academy has made changes to the rules of the Oscars. As reported in the official press release received by the editorial office of the Novosti Kino portal, the nomination "Best Foreign Language Film" was renamed. From now on, it will be called "the best international feature movie".

We believe that the definition of "international feature movie" better represents this category and promotes a positive and inclusive view of moviemaking, as well as the art of cinema as a universal experience. " The name change will not affect the requirements for applicants for the award in this category.

The rules for the "Best Animated Film" category have also been revised. In particular, the mandatory requirement for the release of applicants for rent during the calendar year has been canceled.

The Oscars 2020 ceremony will be held on February 9, 2020 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Whether a host of the show will be appointed has yet to be announced.
