The wife of director Roman Polanski, French actress Emmanuelle Signet, criticized the movie "Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood", directed by Quentin Tarantino. As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, she did not like the exploitation of her husband's "personal tragedy."

"I want to say that in Hollywood they can make a movie about Roman and his tragic story and try to make money on it. ... and at the same time make him an outcast. And all this, of course, without consulting him. How can you take advantage of someone's personal tragedy? ", - wrote the actress.

Note that in 2018 the American Film Academy expelled Polanski from her ranks with the wording of "non-compliance with the values of the organization." We also recall that the director was charged with seducing a minor Samantha Gamer in 1977. Fearing prosecution, he fled the United States and settled in Europe. For several decades, the American authorities sought the extradition of the director, but to no avail.

After the forced emigration, Roman Polanski twice claimed the Academy Awards and won the Best Director nomination in 2003.

The movie "Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood" features both Polanski himself and his wife, brutally murdered by Charles Manson's gang.
