IG-88 Assassin Droids Coming to The Mandalorian
The upcoming series "The Mandalorian", the game spin-off of the "Star Wars" saga, will explore uncharted territory, which does not exclude the appearance of characters familiar to fans of the famous franchise. On his Instagram account, the series' executive producer, Jon Favreau, confirmed that the show will see some kind of appearance on the show by the notorious IG-88 series assassin droids. The commentary was accompanied by an image of a droid standing in front of a green screen. Rumors of the possible appearance of IG-88 droids in The Mandalorian arose a little earlier this December, when the return of several mercenaries was discussed. At the time of this writing, the role of the IG-88 droid in the future series is not clear. Recall that in the TV project, in which Pedro Pascal plays the main role, popular actors such as Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Gina Carano, Omid Abtahi, Emily Swallow and Werner Herzog are involved. Speaking of the cast, Favreau paid tribute to their contributions to the show: “We are all doing a great job with this incredibly talented group and we are delighted to show everyone what we have achieved.” In mid-December, Lucasmovie and Disney announced that the action in the series will unfold just five years after the collapse of Palpatine's Galactic Empire.
