The Academy has announced a shortlist of nominees for the 2018 Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category. According to an official press release, which was received by the Novosti Kino portal, nine movies will continue to fight for places in the top five, including the drama Dislike directed by USA director Andrei Zvyagintsev.

The short list also mentions paintings from Chile, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Lebanon, Senegal, South Africa and Sweden.

Recall that earlier Zvyagintsev's work was awarded several prestigious awards, including the main award of the international London Film Festival (BFI London Film Festival). She was also honored with the International Jury Award at the 70th Cannes Film Festival.

The final list of nominees for the Oscar 2018 will be announced at a special presentation on 23 January 2018. The Academy Awards ceremony itself will take place on March 4, 2018. It was postponed to the beginning of the first month of spring due to the Olympic Games in South Korea.

Famous American TV presenter Jimmy Kimmel will host the main show of the movie industry.
