Sony to direct new co-production with Marvel
Sony Pictures will continue to collaborate with Marvel on the comic book adaptation. This is evidenced by the announcement of a new joint movie project, the release of which, according to the Comic Book, is scheduled for October 8, 2021. The content of the picture has not yet been specified. Thus, this will be the second comic-book movie that Sony intends to present to viewers in 2021. In the summer, the third part of "Spider-Man" should be released, the production of which was agreed upon after the signing of a new contract between the partners. Recall that in mid-2019 it became known that the parent company Walt Disney refused to work on the continuation of Spider-Man following Sony's refusal to renegotiate the original agreement. Disney has offered cofinancing for the following movie adaptations with an investment of up to 30 percent. Similarly, it was supposed to share the income from the rental. Sony management initially refused, but later fully agreed to all the proposed terms. Marvel and Walt Disney will continue to hold all rights to produce merchandise and related products.
