The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will not take place in 2020. According to The Hollywood Reporter, citing the organizers, the event, which was scheduled to take place from July 3 to 11, 2020, will now take place from July 2 to 10, 2021.

The reason is the outbreak of a new type of coronavirus. as well as restrictive measures approved by the Czech government. The authorities intend to loosen strict bans on screening movies in the country as early as June 8, but the new rules will allow organizers to show movies only to audiences of up to 50 viewers in each cinema.
