Marvel Cinematic Universe star Chris Hemsworth will play in a biopic dedicated to American wrestling star Hulk Hogan. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is directed by Todd Phillips, creator of the Bachelor Party to Vegas comedy series. Bradley Cooper will be co-producing the project.

The movie will be presented to viewers on the streaming service Netflix. A possible release date and shooting schedule have not yet been specified.

Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Jean Bollea) was born in Georgia in 1953. He began performing in the ring in the late 70s of the last century, and reached the peak of popularity in the mid 80s. Hulk Hogan was a 12-time world heavyweight champion and a six-time heavyweight champion. Hogan is considered the most recognizable wrestler in the history of these competitions. He consolidated his success by participating in various television shows, serials and movies. In particular, he played the role of the antagonist in the boxing drama "Rocky 3." In 2015, his contract was severed due to his racist remarks.

Hemsworth's MCU partner Chris Evans commented on the news about Hogan's biopic with the words: "This is probably the best news I've ever heard."
