Chinese rental will restart with Avatar and the Avengers

Reopening Chinese cinemas are set to recapture audiences with the highest-grossing movies in history. As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, the distributors have agreed with Walt Disney to re-release the fantastic blockbuster Avatar, as well as all four parts of The Avengers.

No release dates have been announced yet, but it is assumed that the movies will start as soon as newly reopening cinemas receive digital copies. The terms of the agreements with the copyright holders were not specified. Earlier it was alleged that the state-owned China Film Group managed to agree on the rental of box-office hits of past years, allowing cinemas at a certain stage to keep one hundred percent of the profits from ticket sales.

Note that re-screenings of popular movies in China tend to generate increased interest among viewers. So, the stereoscopic version of James Cameron's Titanic, released in 2012, was able to raise more than $ 145 million.

As for Avatar, its earnings at the national box office at one time exceeded $ 200 million, and this despite the fact that in 2009-2010 the number of screens in the country was significantly less than now.
