Sales of Nokia 8110 by the Finnish manufacturer HMD Global, the owner of the well-known Nokia brand, have started in USA.
The model is an updated version of a previously released 1997 device. The famous slightly curved case design is the reason why the phone acquired the unofficial nickname "banana".
Nokia 8110 slider "lit up" in the hands of the protagonist Neo from the popular movie "The Matrix". At the time of the release of the picture, the phone was perceived as a flagship device due to its unusual curved shape, which attracts attention, and premium-class body material. "The phone from the cinema" in those days was associated with a device from the future to a greater extent than today's fancy new smartphones with many built-in modern technologies.
Like the original device of the late 90s, the updated Nokia 8810 belongs to the so-called type of sliders, that is, the panel with buttons is closed. Thus, a telephone call is answered by the standard moving away of a part of the body.
According to the official release from the manufacturer HMD Global, the updated 8810 model provides the ability to download and install lightweight applications from Google (maps, assistant, search), as well as Facebook and Twitter platforms.

Modern Nokia 8810 received a display with a diagonal of 2.4 inches and a resolution of 320x240 pixels. The case material is matte polycarbonate. A 2-megapixel camera is installed on the back of the device.
The phone provides standard functionality: sending and sending e-mails, importing contacts, synchronizing the calendar with Outlook and Gmail services. Also, the device is equipped with the classic game "Snake". The Qualcomm 205 Mobile Platform processor provides a fairly good phone speed.
The model is presented in standard black for classic lovers and deep yellow for those who prefer bright devices. The phone has a built-in FM radio. The manufacturer announced a period of 25 days, during which the device will be able to stay in standby mode without having to restore the battery charge.
