Fox has canceled production of the Marvel-based movies Gambit and Doctor Doom. This is reported by Geek Tyrant, citing its sources. In addition, the creator of the comic series "X-Force" Rob Lifel said on Twitter that this adaptation also "fell victim to the merger." Most likely, he was referring to the merger of Walt Disney and Fox. Recall that attempts to make a movie about a character from the X-Men universe of Gambit have been made by Fox for many years. The project has lost several directors, including Gore Verbinski, who resigned from the post in January 2018.
