Just a few months ago, Andres Muschetti sent dancing clown Pennywise to conquer and scare the hell out of moviegoers all over the world. However, a successful director is not sitting idle, and therefore he is negotiating a new project, reports Deadline. This time, the director of It decided to team up with the creators of The First Avenger, the Russo brothers, in the work on The Electric State *. The upcoming film will be based on the art book of artist Simon Stalenhag.|
Stalenhag is an increasingly popular art figure whose specialty is hyper-realistic Scandinavian landscapes and apocalyptic plots. The Electric State should take the viewer to an alternative America in the mid-90s, when even high technology could not save society from decline. The main characters are a teenage girl and her robot traveling around the United States.
Adapting the story for the big screens will be up to Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the writers of Infinity War and the Captain America films. Funding will fall on the shoulders of Barbara Muschetti, with Mike Larocca serving as executive producer.
The Russo brothers have already admitted that they are delighted to be able to work with such an outstanding team and want to get started faster.
