Friends topped HBO Max
Streaming service HBO Max has published a ranking of the most popular movie projects from its library. According to the publication Deadline, it was headed by the television series Friends, which aired from 1994 to 2004. The second place was taken by a new project - the series "Personal Life", released in 2020. Note that WarnerMedia, which owns the service, planned to launch it at the end of May, presenting a special issue of "Friends", which would again united the performers of the main roles in the famous show. All of them signed the corresponding contracts, involving the payment of record royalties. However, the shooting did not take place due to the outbreak of a new type of coronavirus. It also became known that that more than 30 million HBO subscribers did not take advantage of the free subscription to the new streaming service. This is partly why his starting result was very modest. In the first month since launch, it had only 4.1 million subscribers - significantly less than its competitors.
