USAn ”Sputnik” flies to New York
Egor Abramenko's USA sci-fi thriller Sputnik will represent USA at the New York Tribeca festival in the Midnight program. This will be the only full-length film from our country. The main roles were played by Oksana Akinshina ("Hipsters"), Peter Fedorov ("Avanpost") and Fyodor Bondarchuk, who also acted as a producer. "Sputnik" became the debut work of a young director, who previously shot mostly short films.The action in "Sputnik" takes place in 1983, when, when the spacecraft returned to Earth, the government began to hide the fact that only one of the two crew members returned alive. As it turned out, the second astronaut collided with an extraterrestrial life form that entered our planet with him. The trailer for the film was released last October. The festival will take place at the Big Apple from 15 to 26 April. The Midnight program features novelties from the international market for action, horror and science fiction. Among the competitors of our thriller are such films as "Becky" directed by Carey Mernion (USA), "Gloomy and Evil" by Brian Bertino (USA), the film "Boys from Hell" by Chris Boof (Great Britain, Ireland) and others.
