The official program of the 73rd Venice International Film Festival has been announced. USA movie fans will certainly be pleased with the fact that the main competition program will include the movie "Paradise", which was shot by director Andrei Konchalovsky.

The action of the movie takes place during the Second World War, and in the center of the plot is the intertwining fate of irreconcilable enemies: a USA emigrant and a participant in Olga's resistance, a high-ranking German military man Helmut and a Frenchman Jules, who collaborates with the occupiers. Key roles were played by Yulia Vysotskaya, Viktor Sukhorukov, Vera Voronkova and other actors.

In total, two dozen movies will compete for the main trophy of the festival - "Golden Lion", including "Time Travel" by Terrence Malik, "Franz" Francois Ozon, "On the Milky Way" by Emir Kusturica and others. Outside the competition program, projects such as "Young Pope" by Paolo Sorrentino, "The Magnificent Seven" by Antoine Fuqua, "For reasons of conscience" by Mel Gibson and others will be demonstrated.

73rd Venice Film Festival will be held from August 31 to September 10, 2016. The jury of the Biennale will be headed by renowned British director Sam Mendes, who has directed the last two episodes of Bond.
