Despite the fact that the last film by Robert Zemeckis, the drama The Amazing World of Marven, received devastating press reviews and is considered one of the worst films of the decade, the director is still in demand in Hollywood. The remake of "The Witches" directed by Zemeckis has not even been released yet, and the director has already found a new project for himself, which will be the sci-fi thriller Ares for the Warner Bros. studio.In the center of the film will be an astronaut, whose space capsule lands in the African desert. The main character dreams of reuniting with his family, but it soon becomes clear that his mission is part of a large-scale conspiracy, and that he knows something that can change the world forever. The example of the drama "To the Stars" proves that the space theme, coupled with the original idea, is not always a guarantee of success, but the WB project is described as a breakthrough in the genre, and knowing Zemeckis, one can assume that the film will be full of special effects. Previously, the tape was handled by MGM and Roland Emmerich, and the latter remains its executive producer. Ares was written by Geneva Robertson-Duoret (Captain Marvel, Tomb Raider: Lara Croft).  In addition to "Ares", Robert Zemeckis also plans a live version of "Pinocchio", but it is not yet clear which film will get to the stage of filming faster.
