Bruges to Ireland
Martin McDonagh won the 2006 Oscar in the Best Short Film category, but the general public did not recognize the Irishman's name until two years later, when he made a splash with his debut feature-length film, Bringing Down in Bruges. Since then, every new film by Martin has attracted the attention of the audience. This was the case with the black comedy Seven Psychopaths and the drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Today McDonagh gave a double gift to fans. He not only decided on the next project, but also invited the stars of "Bruges" Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleason to play the main roles.The painting will be titled The Banshees of Inisheer. It looks like Martin will send the audience to the smallest of the Irish islands, Aran. According to the 2016 census, 260 people live in Inishir. The drama will tell about two old friends whose relationship went downhill ... Martin's previous feature films have earned eight Oscar nominations. Three of them were earned by the Irishman himself. He has twice claimed Best Original Screenplay and could have won a prize as a producer, but Three Billboards lost to The Shape of Water.  The Banshee of Inishira will go into production this summer.
