Alex Kurtzman became interested in telekinesis

Image Star Trek founder Alex Kurtzman and his company Secret Hideout acquired the film rights to the hit sci-fi novel The Girl Who Could Move Sh * t 'With Her Mind ... The book came out last year and was written by South African author Jackson Ford, who lives in Vancouver.

The novel tells the story of a girl named Tegan Frost, who has the ability to telekinesis. The government recruited her for their own purposes, and now Teegan is forced to carry out secret missions that no one but her can do. But all she really dreams of is pretending to be normal and drinking beer with her friends in peace. However, during the next assignment, a murder is hanged on Tegan, which she did not commit. The main character has 24 hours to clear her name and save the city from imminent disaster. In spirit, the novel resembles a mix of "Jessica Jones" and "X-Men", only on the dirty streets of Los Angeles.

Kurtzman will executive produce the upcoming project alongside Heather Kadin, while Ford is writing a sequel due out this summer.
