Stories about murderers always raise a public outcry, and filmmakers take advantage of this. In September, it became known that the Start channel began filming a series about the "Angarsk maniac" Mikhail Popkov, and recently the producer Ilya Stewart announced his intention to release a full meter on the same topic. The production of the film will be carried out by the company "Hyp" ("Summer", "Blockbuster"), and one of the most promising directors in the country Lado Quatania, known primarily as a clip maker, will sit in the director's chair. Among his works are the clips “Fata Morgana” for Oksimiron and Markul, “Gold” for Leningrad, “Judas” for Husky, “Honor the Elders” for Noize MC.In plans to make a film based on the story of Chikatilo, Stewart dedicated journalists to the full-time defense of projects that claim financial support from the Cinema Foundation. The film's budget by the standards of USA cinema is average, 103 million rubles, but the producers have every chance to "fight back" and even earn:"Class A actors"have already expressed their willingness to act in films: Viktor Sukhorukov and Alexander Pal."The film is not decided in a linear presentation, its main idea is: to defeat evil, you need to become even greater evil", - said Quatania. The creators of the project focused the attention of the commission on the fact that the picture will not be a recreation of a real story - only rethought materials on the Chikatilo case will be included in the plot, and taking into account all the nuances, it can be called fictional.  Andrei Chikatilo is a Soviet serial killer who was shot in 1994. For 12 years, he killed from 53 to 65 people, and the examination showed that, among other things, he was a rapist, necrophiliac and cannibal. It is noteworthy that in the year of the peak of criminal activity, the Rostov ripper was arrested, but they could only prove that he had stolen the battery.
