Jake Gyllenhaal has a penchant for eccentric characters. Soon, the star of "Stringer" will be reincarnated as a strange eccentric: in the new series A Suspense Novelist's Trail of Deceptions, Jake will get used to the role of the infamous writer AJ Finn.|
The new project is based on the article of the same name by Ian Parker, published in The New Yorker. It is about the "difficult life" of the writer Dan Mallory, known to the general public under the pseudonym A. J. Finn. His debut novel, The Woman in the Window, climbed to the top of the New York Times bestseller list, but the success was preceded by years of strange events and struggles for recognition. The hero of the series is a pathological liar who invented a brain tumor that does not exist in reality, grieving for other family members who allegedly left the world ... And all in order to arouse sympathy from others and get what they want from them.
The director of the pilot is Janica Bravo, whose film "Ash" pleasantly surprised critics at the Sundance festival held earlier this year. She will also co-write the pilot episode with Brian Savleson, and will share production duties with Gyllenhaal.
