Radio Rescue

Image Young American film company Concordia will tell about one of the largest earthquakes in human history. The California studio will take the audience to the 1964 Alaska.

An earthquake lasting 278 seconds and a magnitude of 9.2 was the strongest earthquake in North America. As a result of a natural disaster, 131 residents of Alaska died. The main blow fell on Anchorage. There could have been much more victims if radio host Gini Chance had not come to the rescue of the townspeople.

The building of the broadcasting corporation KENI nearly collapsed, but Jeanie remained in her workplace and continued reporting. She spent 59 hours in front of the microphone, providing residents with information on the work of rescue teams and advice on how to deal with a crisis. Chance's coverage of events in Alaska has won numerous journalism and humanitarian awards.

The script for the disaster will be based on John Muallem's novel "It's Chance!" (This Is Chance!). Ol Parker ("Mamma Mia! 2") will take the director's chair.
