Rosamund Pike joins the women's order
Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) will star in the adaptation of Robert Jordan's fantasy cycle The Wheel of Time. The series based on the books will be released on the Amazon platform. The actress will play Moiraine Damodred, who lives in an incredible world where magic exists that only select women are allowed to learn.In the story, Moiraine belongs to the powerful Aes Sedai women's order. Together with five companions, she sets off on a long and dangerous journey. According to the prophecy, one of the people accompanying her is the reincarnation of the once mighty essence of the Reborn Dragon, which is designed to either save or destroy humanity. The Wheel of Time includes 14 epic fantasy novels. This is a carefully crafted universe in which time is cyclical and has no beginning or end, hence the name. One of the remarkable features of this world is that matriarchy reigns in it both in the political and in the social sphere. The universe includes a significant number of characters from different nations and races: there are almost 3000 of them in the fan databases.  Project showrunner Rafe Judkins (Agents of SHIELD) will act as executive producer and scriptwriter. “For many people, myself included, this series of books has become a world where you can escape, immerse yourself in it, and even get lost.
