Anthony Hopkins unveils Mike Tyson's talent

Image Oscar-winning Anthony Hopkins will raise one of the greatest heavyweight champions in boxing history. The genius Briton will play the legendary American coach Cus D'Amato, who discovered the talent of Mike Tyson.

D'Amato's figure has long attracted Hollywood filmmakers. At various times, Martin Scorsese, Jamie Foxx and Bruce Willis were interested in his history, but none of these projects got off the ground.

In 1939, D'Amato opened the Gramercy Gym and trained many professional boxers. In the late 70s, he began coaching young Mike Tyson. When the guy lost his mother, Cas issued guardianship documents. The coach's support made Mike the strongest fighter of his generation. Unfortunately, D'Amato did not live to see the day when Tyson won the first heavyweight championship belt.

The Patriot Pictures' project is based on Montith Illingworth's book Mike Tyson: Money, Myth and Betrayal. The first draft is written by Desmond Nakano (Americanize Me). The text will now go to Nick Cassavetes. The creator of the "Diary of Memory" will make the final edits to the script and personally take care of its implementation.
