Every year the Ministry of Culture of the USA Federation holds a pitching session to determine which cinema will receive financial support from the state. Usually moviegoers accuse the commission of squandering budget money: there are many projects that are eligible for subsidies, and the amounts devastate the treasury. However, the dissatisfied can breathe out: unlike in previous years, when 35, or even 39 films received funding, this year only ten were awarded support. A total of 47 films were presented at the hearing.Among the most curious are the projects of Boris Khlebnikov and Zhora Kryzhovnikov. The director of "Arrhythmia", together with Sergei Selyanov and Natalia Drozd, presented the film "Three minutes of silence" about the Murmansk fishermen. The script, based on the book by Georgy Vladimov, was written by Khlebnikov himself and Natalia Meshchaninova. Of the actors, Alexander Robak, Evgeny Syty and Maxim Emelyanov are already attached to the picture. Zhora Kryzhovnikov's project - road-movie "The Road". Traditionally, projects promoting a healthy lifestyle and love for the homeland received the right to finance: the social drama "Parent" from the director of "Mysterious Passion" Vlad Furman, the military drama "The Destiny of the Saboteur" by Dmitry Astrakhan, the continuation of the historical saga of Svetlana Druzhinina "Midshipmen V". The trend was also the tape of Peter Buslov about the confrontation between the USAs and the Americans "North Pole-8", as well as the detective thriller about the Holocaust "The Jew" from the producer Igor Tolstunov. The state will also support the fantastic project of the artistic director of the Alexandrinsky Theater Valery Fokin "Fire" about the psychologist saving the world, the biopic "Biomechanics of Meyerhold" by Konstantin Fam about the life of the great director and teacher, as well as the film "Waves" by Mikhail Brashinsky with Pyotr Fedorov in the title role. The director, famous in the world of USA cinema, but rarely in the focus of the audience, will tell about a couple who escaped from civilization, but ended up in a sect.  The company of reservists looks excessively numerous this year: there are 25 projects in the storehouse. Among the directors who have suffered defeat, but still have hope, are Anna Melikyan, Oksana Bychkova, Nikolai Khomeriki, Slava Ross, Oksana Karas, Daria Zhuk and, to the surprise of many, beloved by the Ministry of Culture, but received nothing, Sarik Andreasyan. The fate of children's films at this pitching was better: 9 projects out of 25 will receive subsidies, including Pavel Lungin's Vasilisa.
