Kevin Smith will revive Hee-Man and the Lords of the Universe

Image A new holiday has come to the streets of fans of the "Masters of the Universe" franchise. In January, Sony studio finally got off the ground with work on a full-length film based on the Mattel toy universe, and in April it became known that the role of Hee-Man went to the young actor Noah Centineo. Now the audience has another reason to rejoice. Online service Netflix, Powerhouse Animation and Hollywood multi-channel Kevin Smith have teamed up to create an animated series about the magical planet Eternia.

Smith shared the news of the start of work on a TV project at the Power-Con festival. The novelty will be called "Masters of the Universe: Revelation". It is expected that the anime series will continue the key storylines of the cult animated show of the 80s - "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

The first animated series based on the Mattel franchise debuted in the fall of 1983. Despite the immense popularity among viewers, the cartoon lasted only two seasons on television. During this time, 130 episodes about the confrontation between the noble He-Man and the sinister Skeletor were aired. In 2009, IGN ranked Lords of the Universe at the 58th line in the ranking of the 100 Greatest Animated Series in History.

Smith will act as a producer and showrunner for the TV series. The audience can only hope that the staff of the animation studio Powerhouse will retain the drawing style of the original "Masters of the Universe".
