Skydance will save the magic kingdom
A couple of years ago, a promising newcomer entered the cartoon market - Skydance Animation, led by Pixar and Walt Disney Animation veteran John Lasseter. It looks like the studio is starting to justify the advances made. Skydance unveiled the all-star fantasy musical Spellbound today.Screenplay by Lauren Hynek, Elizabeth Martin (Mulan) and Linda Wolverton (The Lion King) tells the story of a girl who tries to break the ominous curse hanging over the fairy kingdom. Lyrics will be invented by Chris Montand (Toy Story), and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) will act as composer. The director's chair of the cartoon will host Vicky Jenson, creator of "Shrek" and "The Underwater Lads".  Spellbound will world premiere on November 11, 2022.
