Gremlins reveal their secrets
The news in February that WarnerMedia Corporation plans to launch an animated prequel to Gremlins on its streaming service has delighted those who have long dreamed of the return of the lovely mighty Gizmo. Now Gremlins fans have an official reason to celebrate: Amblin Television has released a press release revealing the details of the upcoming show.Earlier it became known that the scriptwriter and executive producer Tse Chun ("Gotham") is in charge of the project. The prequel is now reportedly titled Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai * and will consist of ten half-hour episodes. The action of the animated series will unfold in Shanghai of the 20s of the last century, and in the center of events will be 10-year-old Sam Wing, whom fans of the original "Gremlins" know as the owner of Mr. Wing's shop played by Kay Luke. Sam meets a little mogh named Gizmo, and together with the girl thief El, they set off on a dangerous journey across the Chinese outback, where colorful monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore will meet on their way. The main characters want to return Gizmo home and find the legendary treasure, but because of this they make themselves an enemy in the person of a power-hungry industrialist and his growing army of evil gremlins.  Movie fans have been waiting for a third feature film about gremlins for years, but for now, they can be content with an animated prequel. The date of its premiere has not yet been determined, but the Gremlins' company on the WarnerMedia platform has picked up a good one - a series from the Dune universe, a dramatic thriller Tokyo Police with Ansel Elgort in the title role and projects from JJ Abrams.
