The Amityville Horror Will Be Told From the Beginning
Countless horror films have been filmed about the mysterious story in the village of Amityville in New York, but so far no one has told the original story of Ronald DeFeo, who shot his entire family. In a new movie called Amityville 1974, The Wonderfilm Media Corporation plans to fix that. The film will be a prequel to the adaptation of Jay Anson's bestselling 1979 Amityville Horror of the same name. The film will be directed by Casey La Scala (The Remnant), who also wrote the script.The Amityville Horror novel is based on a true story that took place in 1974 on Long Island. Ronald DeFeo killed his father, mother, two sisters and two brothers with a rifle. The motive of the man is still not clear, but DeFeo was declared sane and was sentenced to 150 years in prison. The history of the mysterious house in Amityville is imbued with a paranormal spirit, since many mysteries remain in the family's case, and the subsequent residents of the house in a hurry left the former crime scene.  Stuart Rosenberg's "Amityville Horror" has become one of the biggest hits in the Hollywood horror genre. In 2005, another adaptation of the same name was released, followed in 2016 by a sequel entitled Amityville Horror: The Awakening. According to La Scala, the plot of "Amityville 1974" will reveal the real facts of the tragic story of DeFeo, as well as touch upon the problems that the family was going through.
