Neil Gaiman: American Gods Will Be Like Avengers
Brian Fuller , who is currently working on the television adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel American Gods , spoke to Crave about your vision of the project. Among other things, he noted that the series will become something like "The Avengers", but with gods instead of superheroes. However, this does not mean that the source material will undergo any global changes. On the contrary, Fuller claims that the writers take the source seriously, especially since Gaiman himself is listed as one of the executive producers of the new show.“The conversations that we have in the writers' room for this project have never happened to me before on the set of any other series,, admitted Brian . -Here we discuss questions of fate and faith, as well as the rules that will guide us in the study of various aspects of religion. Our writers are not going to completely distance themselves from this topic, but they also do not want to ridicule anyone for their religious beliefs. This is very important for us, because every person has faith in something, even if from the outside it may look like complete nonsense, like the fear of black cats and the like. ”  According to Fuller , the creators of the project will dig deep and are even going to present to the audience“as many Jesus as there are communities that believe in him... When asked if we will see all these Jesus together, the showrunner answered evasively:I won't tell you, stay tuned. As for the more global plans for the series, Brian said the following:“We are considering the possibility of making our project something like the cinematic universe Marvel , but with gods instead of superheroes. Each of our characters will be worked out to the smallest detail and at the same time fit into the overall picture, as in the films Marvel ... And if successful, you can expect spin-offs exploring individual gods in more detail ".  American Gods launches on Starz in 2017.
