Today marks the 80th anniversary of the national Sherlock Holmes , People's Artist of the RSFSR Vasily Livanov . He was born in 1935 in Moscow, his father and grandfather were also actors. Livanov graduated from the Shchukin Theater School in 1958, and in 1959 made his film debut in the film " Unsent Letter ". More than 300 characters speak in his voice from the screen, including Carlson , Crocodile Gena , Black Cat from Kitten named Woof ", Boa constrictor from" 38 parrots ".  The world famous detective Sherlock Holmes performed by Vasily Livanov and his friend and assistant doctor Watson (Vitaly Solomin) first appeared in 1979 in the film Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson: An Introduction , directed by Igor Maslennikov. In total, from 1979 to 1986, 11 parts of the story were published, dedicated to the adventures of the legendary couple.
