A director found for the sequel to The Adventures of Paddington
Deadline has revealed that Paul King , who directed The Adventures of Paddington , will return to directing the sequel ...The source reports that the management of StudioCanal and producer David Heyman invited the filmmaker to continue working on the franchise immediately after the first part has successfully passed the screens of world cinemas. King will not only take over directing the production, but will also write the script, with the help of Simon Fairnaby. The latter, by the way, was noted in The Adventures of Paddington with a small role. Insiders say that StudioCanal sees in the films about the smart bear cub the beginning of an entire film series, although the details of the sequel have not yet been disclosed. The original film, shot for $ 55 million , earned $ 259.5 million at the worldwide box office, was nominated for the prestigious BAFTA award and received flattering reviews from both critics and audiences.  The Adventures of Paddington , based on the Michael Bond children's book series, follows aPeruvian bear heading for a big city in search of a new home. The noisy life of the metropolis turned out to be not as rosy as it seemed, but, fortunately, the friendly family of Browns took in the bear cub.  It is not yet known whether the actors involved in the first part will return to their roles in the sequel. The Adventures of Paddington sequel is set to premiere in 2017.
